House Portraits, lately

Dear friend,

Well hello there! How are your Tuesdays coming along? I was just sitting here, sipping my 3:00 cappuccino, putting the finishing touches on some house portraits and realized it's been a long time since I showed you any recent ones. So here are some favorites from the past few months. The one above? I love this one! Makes me want to cover our home in cedar shakes...mmmm :)

This one seems quite proper, like it belongs to a gentle English family...

Ah....yellow! The world is a carousel of color, no?

And I love this little 1920's bungalow in Texas. Steal my heart, little bungalow. Precious. I have to confess: Never, in any figment of my imagination, did I dream that these house portraits would become the sort of bread-and-butter for me that they have. I know lots of you have either ordered portraits or are currently on my waiting list and I just want to thank you so, so, so, so kindly for your patronage of my little shop. Through doing these portraits, I have been able to "meet" the nicest people and hear the wildest stories. It has been incredibly fun. I still get several emails a day asking when I will be taking orders again, and it makes me feel so awful  to have to say I'm booked until this time next year. If you are one of those people, please know that I very much want to work with you and wish I had about three more hands (not really...ew). But if you won't forget about me, I won't forget about you :)

Cheerio!

Rebekka

These are precious! So glad to hear you are busy :)

Has there been any news about your little girl? Every time you post I always hope to read a sentence saying you guys are finally getting to meet her! Wishing you the best of luck, still.

It does make me feel a bit better to know that by the time I will be ready to buy a house, you will be ready to take orders again :)

Love the little 1920 bungalow the best! So cute :) Glad you are doing so well with these house portraits.

The houses are so cute! I understand why there's a waiting list.
A waiting list that long is overwhelming! How do you deal with saying no to people? Are you ever tempted to add more to your workload? I'm afraid I always do when people ask and I'm already booked. Not a healthy policy (literally).

Thinking I'll have to get on that long list one of these days...perhaps after we've painted the house something other than beige. ;)
