Plum Crumble

Dear friend,

Quite probably, this is the best thing I have baked all summer. In fact, I can't stop making it. In fact, it's barely even still summer. In fact, this crumble is perfect for this very time of year right now, because it echoes the summer and stirs up dormant whispers of fall.

The recipe is adapted from one by the illustrious Ina Garten, although hers included raspberries as well. I left them out because they aren't really in season anymore, and I like lots of jammy plummyness anyway. The recipe is right here...I followed it exactly but added a couple of extra plums to account for the missing berries. Oh, and I used raw sugar for the "granulated sugar". It's been making us very happy these past few days!

Also....

Okay. It's 2:57pm and that means I have exactly three minutes to press some coffee or else I won't make it through the rest of the afternoon. Hope your days are crisp and delicious!

Love,

Rebekka

Nice score on your illustration being featured at Anthro! There is a brand new Anthro opening up in my town tomorrow and I'm beyond excited, perhaps I will see your little memo pads there!

Did they approach you for your work? I find it interesting how they manage to find gifted artists and feature them somehow in there store.

Oh, and I meant to say also, I'm still waiting to see you somehow featured in "Anthology" magazine some time!

so..... I received 5lbs of plums in my CSA bin yesterday. 5 pounds!!! That's a lot.
So funny.... I actually bought all of the ingredients to make this last night. You'll probably see a pic similar to this on my blog very soon. YAY! Super excited now. :)

Ha. The remains of that dessert are sitting in my fridge right now. We made it for a recent dinner party and it was a big hit. I love the flavor combinations - however, I will admit that I have another *very similar* recipe I prefer because the topping is different. I'll see if I can't find it online...

Love the links! Congratulations on your Anthropologie collaboration. That is hands-down one of my favorite stores...

And I don't think the skeleton print is creepy! It's really cool... never too early to get a girl into science, if you ask me!

Rebekka! We were just at Anthropologie the other day and I said to Tim, this artwork is so the style of Rebekka's. She could sell her stuff here. So cool. Congrats!

I don't think that skeleton is creepy at all. It's very, very cute and perfect for a kid's room...encourages learning and imagination. Also, it's reminiscent of Frida Kahlo, which makes me LOOOOOVE it!
